Dojo Athletics offers Skills clinics for player’s ages 3-17 years old that want to improve their overall game. The Clinics will be done in a group setting consisting of advanced basketball training drills, mental training techniques and a strength and conditioning program to help maximize each player’s results. Each participant will have the opportunity to advance through the jersey level system as they grow within the program; the black jersey is the highest level one can achieve in this program.

One of the greatest scores in the history of Antelope Valley basketball, John was named to the All CIF team and the All State team his senior year at Highland High, while being named Golden League MVP.

He was All Conference as a freshman at Antelope Valley College, as the Marauders went 30-4, grabbing the #1 JC ranking in the state at one time. John was named to the All State team as a sophomore, and was listed as the 23rd best Junior College player in the country, at any position, by Dick Vitale. John is still the 2nd all time leading scorer at Antelope Valley College.

At the college level, Burrell and fellow Antelope Valley product Markus Carr helped Northridge upset UCLA to earn a March Madness berth, scoring 17 points against the Bruins. John also played at the University of Nevada Reno where he was an all conference guard.

Through his non-profit organization JJ All Sports Training, he set up mentoring programs as well as educational and sports programs to help underpriviledged youth in the Antelope Valley. His foundation obtained grants from the USGA, Amateur Athletic Foundation and First 5 LA. He also ran free football camps for kids, which was funded by a grant from the NFL. These camps were staffed by the likes of former NFL players Will Demps and Milton Wynn.
